What is the Good Food Box?

The Good Food Box is a monthly produce box which anyone in the Kingston, Ontario area can order. It is sometimes referred to as a 'bulk buying club.'

We work with a local wholesaler to get you the best possible deal each month on fresh produce. We purchase bulk produce wholesale, and then we pass those savings on to you. The produce in your box changes each month, depending on what is well-priced and available.

There is no membership required, and no criteria for joining. You can decide which months you want to purchase.

How do I order?

Head to the shop tab to place your monthly order online using your credit card. Ordering instructions are available at the top of the page.

If you would like to pay cash, you can place an order in-person at Kingston Community Health Centres reception, at 263 Weller Ave, from Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30.

Orders are always due on the second Thursday of the month (except December). Orders are then available for pickup on the third Thursday of the month. For a full list of order due dates and pickup dates, visit the schedule tab.

On pickup day, you will collect your box from the pickup location which is most convenient for you. A full list of pickup locations, along with contact details and pickup hours, is available under host sites.

Our
Story

The Good Food Box (GFB) Kingston is a non-profit produce distribution program run by Kingston Community Health Centres (KCHC).

For over 20 years, the GFB has been providing monthly access to fresh produce boxes through community host sites, with the mission of increasing accessibility to fresh produce in the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington area.

This program supports KCHC's organizational vision of "A caring community that is healthy, connected, resilient, and inclusive of all people."

GFB Kingston purchases directly from Tony Deodato and Sons, a local wholesaler who only deals with produce. This means you will receive the freshest produce available. Coordinated by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and inspired by a grassroots approach, the GFB Kingston is a smart way for anyone to access quality produce at an affordable price.
