FAQs
Can I customize my box?
In order for us to maximize our 'produce dollars', the contents in each box are fixed. What you can do is purchase in a group and split the things you like or don't like among each other!
What if I have an allergy or dietary restriction?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate individual allergy or dietary requests. We do, however, make an effort to exclude certain fruit and vegetables that are common allergens.
How can I pay for my order?
Our website accepts payment via credit or debit (as long as the debit card has the 'visa' logo on it). If you would like to pay in cash, you can do so at two locations: Kingston Community Health Centres' reception desk at 263 Weller Avenue; Trellis, at 844 Princess St (ask for Diane); St Vincent de Paul Society reception desk at 595 Bagot Street; Napanee Salvation Army at 81 Dairy Avenue; KL&S Napanee at 9 Advance Ave. For full details, check out the Host Sites tab.
What do I do if something has gone bad?
Although we do our absolute best to ensure your boxes and bags are filled with top quality produce, occasionally a 'bad apple' makes its way in. If you come across any food that you are not satisfied with, please contact the host site you picked it up from or the GFB line directly at goodfoodbox@kchc.ca or 613-530-2239.
Is it local or organic?
Through our wholesaler we source local food when it is available and in season. We do not generally source organic produce. The goal of GFB is to make healthy eating affordable for everyone in the community, therefore our focus is about bringing in quality produce for the best value.
